At our upcoming Spring Recital this Saturday, Julie will be playing the 2nd movement (Largo Ma Non Tanto) of Bach’s Double Violin Concerto in D-minor, together with our instructor Stan Antonevich. We would like to congratulate our student MABEL HO, a high school junior from Melrose, for successfully passing her audition to Tufts Youth Philharmonic, a Boston area orchestra for advanced music students. Yesterday, Mabel received confirmation that she has been accepted to the orchestra for the 2023-2024 season. And here is her photo, as a young beginner. CONGRATULATIONS Mabel, you have come a long way!

We would like to congratulate our student Derek Mar, a junior at Canton High School, who has been chosen to serve as concertmaster of his school orchestra, having served as assistant concertmaster last year.

We would like to congratulate our student Derek Mar, a junior at Canton High School, who has been chosen to serve as concertmaster of his school orchestra, having served as assistant concertmaster last year. Derek is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society of the National Association for Music Education, a member of the 2022 Senior Festival in the Southeastern district of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association, and violin tutor in the Canton High School Summer Orchestra Music Camp. At yesterday’s recital, Derek performed the 1st movement from the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by Joseph Haydn. CONGRATULATIONS, DEREK!

ENCHANTED TREASURES: classical violin music

Classical music by Boston’s favorite violin artist Stan Antonevich at Gloucester House of Arts, followed by a reception. Preceded by optional tour of the property at 4pm. Donation $30, seniors $20.

House of Arts is a new architectural marvel by artist couple Ekaterina (Katya) Sorokina & Nicholas (Kolya) Shaplyko, also co-founders of the Museum of Modern Renaissance in Somerville. Their unique magical design blends the interior living space with natural wooded surroundings, creating the effect of simplicity and harmony with nature.
